A cartridge filter is a cylindrical filter element installed inside a housing. Liquid or gas flows from the outside of the cartridge to the inside (or vice versa in some designs). Particles are retained by the filter media while the clean fluid exits through the central core.

Membrane cartridges (such as PTFE) provide absolute-rated surface filtration for critical sterile or high-purity applications. Spun bonded cartridges are made from 100% polypropylene fibres continuously spun onto a central core. They offer true gradient density, excellent chemical compatibility and high strength. Available with or without core, in lengths from 10″ to 60″ and a wide range of micron ratings.
PTFE membrane cartridges are designed for sterile filtration of liquids, air and gases, and for highly corrosive streams such as strong acids, bases and solvents. They feature high porosity, uniform pore size distribution and absolute ratings down to 0.05 micron. Suitable for autoclave and in-situ steam sterilisation.
We start with the fluid characteristics, required micron rating, flow rate and housing type. Media, core, cage and end-cap configuration are then matched to those requirements.
All polypropylene cartridges use thermally welded construction with no adhesives or binders. End connections include Double Open End (DOE), Code 7 (226 O-ring), Code 3 (222 O-ring) and other standard configurations to fit common housings. O-rings are available in EPDM, Buna-N, Silicone and Viton.
Pleated designs provide high surface area (typically more than 0.5 m² per 10″ cartridge). Gradient density media further increases contaminant holding capacity, allowing longer runs between change-outs.
Cartridges intended for food, beverage and pharmaceutical use are manufactured to meet relevant FDA requirements. Materials are biologically safe and free from surfactants, binders and adhesives where specified.
